My mate and I met Suzie Q at the Barron Townhouse in Adelaide in 1974 (she was possibly staying there?) She was by herself in the bar and offered to buy us a drink which we accepted. Didn’t really appreciate who she was at the time.

  13. Jacqueline Layton says:

I was 10 and my first concert. Remember my dad picked us up in his pyjamas. Loved the concert and danced and danced.

  14. Leon says:

Went to the Adelaide concert at centennial hall. I must have been 12 or 13 years.
She had 2 gigs on the same night. First at 6.30 ( I think), and the second at 8.30.
They band played Can the Can album from start to finish. Then left. I thought the drummer was cute.

My first concert and I was only 10. The stage was over the top of the racing pool at Beatty Park Aquatic Centre in Perth. Love Suzi!!

  17. Paul Abrahams says:

I was at the Hordern I was 16, up the front and hanging at the front of the stage. I remember her boots almost crushed my hands. The band looked mean as. She rocked!

  18. Mark Stonehouse says:

  19. Michael O'Brien says:

I remember in great detail taking the day off school to catch the bus into Perth City where I waited all day for tickets to Suzi’s 18 May 1974 Beatty Park Concert to arrive. I recall the disappointment I felt when I purchased ticket number #2 because the stack of tickets were taped together and ticket #1 was ripped when the tape was removed from the stack. I recall being the first at the venue around 7am on the day of the concert and the feeling of nearly being pushed through the plate glass doors by the crowd just as the door were being opened that night. I was front row centre on the balcony, screamed like a 14 yo girl at a Beatles concert, and seriously considered jumping down from the balcony and swimming across the pool to the stage. luckily for me and my legs, I did not jump , rather went home and bought a bass and started to rock. Made a career out of music and still perform to this day.

  22. Paul Watson says:

Suzi was perhaps my first major gig. Either her or Lou Reed at Wellington Town Hall 1974. How come there are no dates of the 74 NZ tour. Tried googling too

  23. Paul Watson says:

I checked the Lou Reed gig in Wellington was on 30 August, so I would say Suzi would have been my first gig. Mr Lee Grant and Herma Keil when I was about 8 years old on holiday don’t count lol

  24. Bill Osborne says:

I was there in 1974 at Beatty park pool I snuck in with a couple of mates I was 14 years old so cool !
